Chicago Summer Music Camp – July 15-19, 2024
The Chicago Summer Music Camp is a day camp held at American Music Institute’s Clarendon Hills Campus for students of all levels, ages 5-18 years old, and all instruments. Camp is structured to be enriching, exciting, and educational for children to experience music in a fun way throughout the long summer months. AMI’s award-winning faculty create a curriculum to amplify the best aspects of music education and performance, where campers create and perform music daily.
The Camp is held Monday – Friday at American Music Institute’s Clarendon Hills, IL campus, located 25 minutes west of downtown Chicago. It is open to ages 5 – 18 years old, all instruments, all levels, and all styles of music. Aftercare is available daily!
Daily curriculum at consists of 5 various instructional & academic classes, a lunch period, and a performance class or orchestra. One of the highlights at the camp is learning the basics of music with music theory and history from Baroque to Modern to Pop/Rock. While students learn about theory and history, they also encourage students to create their own compositions by taking part in Composition Class. At the end of each day, students and faculty alike participate in the performance class. Additionally, all are encouraged to play their own compositions in the pursuit to learn from one another in an enriching musical experience, making music together.
